Wednesday string students will begin on Sept. 21st
Monday strings students will begin on Sept. 26th
Choir (Tuesdays) will begin on Sept. 27th

NEW PARENT ORIENTATION
for new string student families will be held on Monday, Sept. 19th  at 3:10 in the Library.   Students should attend, as we will be measuring for proper instrument sizes and discussing home practice expectations.   If your child has an instrument already, please bring it for tuning and taping.

We are also taking new beginners of ALL GRADE LEVELS for the first time,  so this is the chance for those 4th - 6th graders who wished they were in our program to join us!  Again, please help spread the word.

Mr. Stanley  was out at the Capitol Meet & Greet this afternoon, and he'll be visiting with Carmichael tomorrow! Summer Superstars of Practice Starts Today!

Summer Superstars of Practice Starts Today!

Click here to go to Ms. Ingrid's Teacher Page, and download Superstars Chart and some new summer music! Keep track of your practice minutes on the Superstars Practice Chart by coloring in 1 small box for every 10 minutes of practice. 6 small boxes make one hour, and every 6 hours you will reach an award level.  Start with the RED star and keep practicing to reach BLUE, SILVER, or GOLD!

You can miss day or miss a week, and double up other days to reach your goals. Just be sure to only track the time you are actually practicing.

Students who complete 6 hours or more are invited to play in our Summer Superstars of Practice Concert on July 31st.   More details on that will be available soon.

Good Luck!

MusicLIVE Strings Program at Theodore Judah Elementary

We are so thrilled to announce that our MusicLIVE Strings Program will be starting at Theodore Judah Elementary in the fall!

The Theodore Judah Strings Program was created and taught by Holly Harrison.  She has done a fantastic job of starting with students without any previous musical experience and bringing them to the point where they can play in ensembles together.  They have 3 levels of classes - Beginning Violin, String Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra.

We will be continuing Ms. Holly's program starting in the Fall of 2016, and are excited to be able to introduce a new First Grade Violin Class as well!

Here the are at their end of the year concert with Ms. Holly Harrison

And here's the beginning violin class, getting ready to bow after their final song:

Can't wait to get started working with this great community of families and students!   For Theodore Judah parents who are interested in enrolling their child in our strings program,   site information will be on our website soon,  and online enrollment will be available in mid August.

Hope everyone is enjoying this great weather, and getting in some great practice time!

Summer Superstars of Practice Begins Next Week!

Summer Break is finally here!  We had a great year, and it's time to take a little break from the school year routine.   The kids are home from school and I'm looking forward to spending time with them at the river and the pool.  I'm also looking forward to getting in some great practice while my schedule is more open!  Good thing that....

Summer Superstars of Practice Challenge starts on Monday June 13th!

Click here to download the official Summer Superstars Chart, and start keeping track of your practice minutes starting on Monday, June 13th.   Color in 1 small square for every 10 minutes of practice.  You can skip a day or skip a week. Double or triple up on practice days to meet your goals.

Everybody who reaches the 1st goal level (6 hours total) or more will be invited to perform at our Superstars of Practice Concert on Sunday, July 31st at Fairy Tale Town.

New music will be sent out on the 1st day of the challenge to give everyone something to work on, and of course students who are coming to  VIOLIN CAMP will have no problem getting in their hours.

Enjoy the start of summer, stay cool, and get ready to PRACTICE!
